Sergio Arellano is a combat veteran, public servant, and Republican strategist running for State Party Chairman to restore unity, rebuild trust, and deliver consistent Republican victories across Arizona.
Born and raised in Tucson, Sergio enlisted in the United States Army at age 17 and served honorably for more than a decade as an Infantryman and Human Resources Specialist. His service earned him the Combat Infantryman Badge, multiple commendations, and numerous national service and expeditionary medals before retiring due to combat-related injuries.
After his military service, Sergio continued serving Arizona’s veterans through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and later as Arizona State Director for the Army Wounded Warrior Program (AW2). In this role, he coordinated care for severely injured soldiers and built national partnerships to support military families.
Sergio then served the State of Arizona during the foreclosure crisis as Outreach Director for the Attorney General’s National Mortgage Settlement Program, where he traveled to all 15 counties and helped hundreds of families stay in their homes.
In 2014, Sergio founded the Santa Cruz County Elections Integrity Committee, one of Arizona’s earliest grassroots organizations dedicated to exposing vulnerabilities and demanding transparency in local election systems.
Under Sergio’s leadership, the committee filed a lawsuit against Santa Cruz County for violations of Arizona’s election transparency laws — and won 8 out of 10 counts. This legal victory established a documented record that the county failed to provide adequate transparency, marking a historic win for accountability and oversight in Southern Arizona.
Years later, Sergio expanded this work into Yuma County, collaborating closely with current Yuma County Recorder David Lara and longtime election-integrity activist Gary Snider. Together, they gathered firsthand accounts, evidence, and field intelligence related to illegal ballot-harvesting activity in the San Luis area.
Their work became part of the foundational background material provided to filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza for the national documentary 2000 Mules, elevating Arizona’s election-integrity concerns to national attention and contributing to the public pressure that ultimately led to multiple criminal convictions for illegal ballot collection in Yuma County.
Sergio’s guiding principle is simple:
Every legal vote must count, and every illegal vote must be stopped.
Restoring trust in elections is not optional — it is essential.
Sergio has spent years building, training, and mobilizing Republican voters throughout Arizona. His experience includes:
State Director for Hispanic Outreach, Republican National Committee
Strategic Initiatives Director, Arizona Republican Party
Spanish-language & international spokesperson for the GOP and the 2016 & 2020 Trump campaigns
Arizona representative, President Donald Trump’s National Latino Advisory Board
Past Chairman, Legislative District 2 Republicans
First Vice Chair, Pima County Republican Party
He played a central role in large-scale grassroots efforts, including managing Southern Arizona operations during the 2016 presidential race, which produced over 500,000 voter contacts and 65,000 doors knocked.
Sergio has served on multiple state and local boards and commissions, including:
Arizona Liquor Commission
Pima County Transportation Advisory Committee
Pima County Sales Tax Advisory Committee
Town of Sahuarita Parks & Recreation Commission
He previously served as an elected school board member for Continental School District #39.
Sergio’s dedication has earned him numerous honors, including the AZGOP Chairman of the Year Award, the Barry Goldwater Award for Excellence, and recognition as a Certified Peer Mentor with the Wounded Warrior Project.
Sergio’s plan to rebuild and strengthen the Arizona Republican Party is rooted in The Five R’s:
• Raise Money
• Register Voters
• Retain Republican Majorities
• Regain Lost Republican Seats
• Reinforce Election Integrity
His leadership priorities include:
Unifying the party under disciplined, mission-first leadership
Strengthening county and LD operations with real resources and real support
Building a transparent, professional fundraising system
Expanding Republican voter registration in every region of the state
Restoring public trust in elections through enforcement, transparency, and reform
Sergio believes Arizona must return to a Republican Party that is organized, disciplined, and focused on winning — not infighting.
